Summary

This article describes how to add a custom image with the FrontPage Hit Counter in a shared border.

Procedure

  1. In FrontPage, open a Web site that contains shared borders by using an HTTP path.
  2. After the site opens remotely, click Web Settings on the Tools menu, and then click the Advanced tab.
  3. Under Options, click to select the Show documents in hidden directories check box, and then click OK.
  4. Go to the _borders folder, and open the borders page that you want to modify (for example, top.htm, bottom.htm, and so on).
  5. Place the insertion point in the location where you want to insert the hit counter.
  6. On the Insert menu, point to Component, and then click Hit Counter.
  7. In the Hit Counter Properties dialog box, select the Custom Picture option.
  8. Insert the path to the custom image from the root of the Web, and then click OK (for example, if the image is in the images folder, the path should be images/counter.gif).
  9. Save and close the shared border page.
