Favorites are not displayed in Internet Explorer on a computer that is running Windows 8

Symptoms

After you install a 32-bit application in a 64-bit version of Windows 8, your favorite websites are not displayed in Internet Explorer. Additionally, you cannot type Simplified Chinese characters in the address bar to search your favorite websites or the History.

This issue occurs because the Internet Explorer property schema is cleared incorrectly.
