Sizes of physical drives are displayed incorrectly in the Initial Configuration Tasks window after you configure storage in Windows Server 2012

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

On a Windows Server 2012-based computer that uses a non-English language or locale, you configure storage by using the wizards that are part of the OEM-Appliance-OOBE feature or Failover Cluster Manager. In this situation, the sizes of the physical drives on the computer are displayed incorrectly in the Initial Configuration Tasks window.

For example, if the computer is using the German language or locale, only 10 percent of the real size of each physical disk is displayed in the Initial Configuration Tasks window.

Cause

This issue occurs because an uninitialized culture setting causes the sizes of the drives to be calculated incorrectly.
