Symptoms

You experience the following problem in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009:
  • After you post a Resource type job journal line or a GL Account type job journal line, the Job Posting Group field is set to blank in the corresponding job ledger entries.
  • After you post item consumption from a job journal, the corresponding job ledger entry uses an inventory posting group instead of a job posting group.

You expect that the system always registers a job related posting with a job posting group. This problem occurs in the following products:
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 R2
  • Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Service Pack 1

Code changes

Note Always test code fixes in a controlled environment before you apply the fixes to your production computers.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Change the code in the FromPlanningSalesLinetoJnlLine procedure in the Job Transfer Line codeunit (1004) as follows:
    Existing code 1
    ...
    BEGIN
    JobJnlLine."Job No." := JobPlanningLine."Job No.";
    JobJnlLine."Job Task No." := JobPlanningLine."Job Task No.";
    JobJnlLine.Type := JobPlanningLine.Type;
    JobTask.GET(JobPlanningLine."Job No.",JobPlanningLine."Job Task No.");

    // Delete the following line.
    JobJnlLine."Posting Group" := JobTask."Job Posting Group";
    ...
    Replacement code 1
    ...
    BEGIN
    JobJnlLine."Job No." := JobPlanningLine."Job No.";
    JobJnlLine."Job Task No." := JobPlanningLine."Job Task No.";
    JobJnlLine.Type := JobPlanningLine.Type;
    JobTask.GET(JobPlanningLine."Job No.",JobPlanningLine."Job Task No.");
    ...
    Existing code 2
    ...
    JobJnlLine."Posting Date" := JobPlanningLine."Invoiced Date";
    JobJnlLine."Document Date" := JobPlanningLine."Invoiced Date";
    JobJnlLine."Document No." := SalesLine."Document No.";
    JobJnlLine."Entry Type" := JobJnlLine."Entry Type"::Sale;
    ...
    Replacement code 2
    ...
    JobJnlLine."Posting Date" := JobPlanningLine."Invoiced Date";
    JobJnlLine."Document Date" := JobPlanningLine."Invoiced Date";
    JobJnlLine."Document No." := SalesLine."Document No.";
    JobJnlLine."Entry Type" := JobJnlLine."Entry Type"::Sale;

    // Add the following line.
    JobJnlLine."Posting Group" := SalesLine."Posting Group";
    ...
  2. Change the code in the FromGenJnlLineToJnlLine procedure in the Job Transfer Line codeunit (1004) as follows:
    Existing code
    ...
    JobTask@1000000000 : Record 1001;
    BEGIN
    JobJnlLine."Job No." := GenJnlLine."Job No.";
    JobJnlLine."Job Task No." := GenJnlLine."Job Task No.";
    JobTask.GET(GenJnlLine."Job No.",GenJnlLine."Job Task No.");

    // Delete the following lines.
    IF GenJnlLine."Account Type" = GenJnlLine."Account Type"::"G/L Account" THEN
    JobJnlLine."Posting Group" := GenJnlLine."Account No.";
    // End of the lines.
    ...
    Replacement code
    ...
    JobTask@1000000000 : Record 1001;
    BEGIN
    JobJnlLine."Job No." := GenJnlLine."Job No.";
    JobJnlLine."Job Task No." := GenJnlLine."Job Task No.";
    JobTask.GET(GenJnlLine."Job No.",GenJnlLine."Job Task No.");
    ...
  3. Change the code in the FromPurchaseLineToJnlLine procedure in the Job Transfer Line codeunit (1004) as follows:
    Existing code
    ...
    WITH PurchLine DO BEGIN
    JobJnlLine.DontCheckStdCost;
    JobJnlLine.VALIDATE("Job No.","Job No.");
    JobJnlLine.VALIDATE("Job Task No.","Job Task No.");
    JobTask.GET("Job No.","Job Task No.");

    // Delete the following line.
    JobJnlLine."Posting Group" := JobTask."Job Posting Group";
    ...
    Replacement code
    ...
    WITH PurchLine DO BEGIN
    JobJnlLine.DontCheckStdCost;
    JobJnlLine.VALIDATE("Job No.","Job No.");
    JobJnlLine.VALIDATE("Job Task No.","Job Task No.");
    JobTask.GET("Job No.","Job Task No.");
    ...
  4. Change the code in the Job Ledger Entry table (169) as follows:
    Existing code
    ...
    // Delete the following lines.
    { 29 ; ;Job Posting Group ;Code20 ;TableRelation=IF (Type=CONST(Item)) "Inventory Posting Group"
    ELSE IF (Type=CONST(G/L Account)) "G/L Account" }
    // End of the lines.
    ...
    Replacement code
    ...
    // Add the following line.
    { 29 ; ;Job Posting Group ;Code20 ;TableRelation=IF (Type=CONST(Item)) "Inventory Posting Group" }
    ...
  5. Change the code in the Job Journal Line table (210) as follows:
    Existing code
    ...
    // Delete the following lines.
    { 30 ; ;Posting Group ;Code20 ;TableRelation=IF (Type=CONST(Item)) "Inventory Posting Group"
    ELSE IF (Type=CONST(G/L Account)) "G/L Account";
    // End of the lines.
    ...
    Replacement code
    ...
    // Add the following line.
    { 30 ; ;Posting Group ;Code20 ;TableRelation=IF (Type=CONST(Item)) "Inventory Posting Group";
    ...
