INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

Assume that the Content Type column is displayed in a SharePoint 2010 document library. Additionally, assume that you click the Export to Excel button to export a workbook in the library to Microsoft Excel. When you open the exported workbook in Excel 2010, the Content Type column is not displayed in the workbook.

Note If you open the workbook in Excel 2007, the Content Type column is displayed in the workbook.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
