You experience slow performance when you generate a financial statement in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012

Symptoms

Assume that you use an account structure that contains a main account and several dimensions in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012. You define a financial statement by using a dimension set for a dimension and the main account. When you generate the financial statement, you experience slow performance. It takes too much time to generate the financial statement.

You must restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service after you apply the hotfix.

More Information

This hotfix improves the performance. However, it may not provide sufficient reductions in time to generate the financial statements.

To improve the performance of the creation and generation of financial statements, you can use Microsoft Dynamics Management Reporter 2012. Management Reporter uses a Data Mart that is conducive to reporting requirements and allows for faster report generation times. By using a Data Mart for the financial statement generation, As a Microsoft Dynamics AX user, you will not experience any system degradation when you perform other business tasks or processes.

With Management Reporter, you can create boardroom-quality reports without IT assistance. You can use Microsoft Dynamics AX dimensions to create customized financial statements, and use a centralized report library to provide secure report distribution and storage. Management Reporter works directly with the Microsoft Dynamics AX general ledger. This eliminates the need to create a custom connection to your primary data source.
