How to Troubleshoot Invalid Page Fault Error Messages
This section describes how to troubleshoot the "invalid page fault" error message. To troubleshoot the "invalid page fault" error messages, you must eliminate all of the variables that can cause this behavior.
Close all Programs Except Outlook Express
Verify that other programs are not running while you try to troubleshoot the error message. If the "invalid page fault" error message is resolved after you quit all other programs, the behavior may have occurred because of the interaction of Outlook Express with the other program. Use the following steps to close all programs in Windows Task Manager before you restart Outlook Express:
- Press CTRL+ALT+DELETE to open the Task Manager
- Click a running program, and then click End Task.
- Repeat step 2 until the only programs that are running are Internet Explorer and Systray.
NOTE: On Windows 2000-based computer, use the Task Manager to close all applications.
How to Create a New Identity
When you create and use a new identity, you can determine if the error message occurs because of damage to the Outlook identity data. To create a new identity:
- On the File menu, point to Identities, and then click Add New Identity.
- In the Type your name box, type a name for the new identity.
- Click OK, and then click Close.

How to Rename and Repair Damaged Files
