Symptoms

When you sell a fixed asset earlier than the depreciation period of the asset, bonus depreciation is restored for all customers based on the tax accounting model. This problem occurs regardless of which customer purchased the fixed asset.

Note Beginning January 1, 2012, bonus depreciation must be restored only for the affiliated customers of the fixed asset. The net book value of sold FA must be increased by the amount of recovered depreciation bonus.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, install this hotfix. To do this, make sure that the Affiliated option is enabled in the Accounts Payable setup. After you install this hotfix, bonus restoration is calculated for affiliated customers only.

Prerequisites

You must have Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 installed to apply this hotfix.

All FA sales in 2012 must be entered in the system before you apply this hotfix.

Restart requirement

You must restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service after you install this hotfix.
