 If you encounter errors when you install this update through Microsoft Update or Windows Update, use one or both of the following methods:
  • Run the Windows Update Fix it (50461) that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article, and then try to install the security update again:
    2258121 You receive error code: 0x80070646, error code: 646, or error code: 1606 when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update
  • Download the update package to your computer from and then double-click the .msp file to install the update.
