To work around this problem, note that Internet Explorer 5.5 Service Pack 1 has added functionality so that Internet Explorer version 5.5 can use compressed content over HTTP 1.0. However, to enable this functionality, use Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe) to view the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
Add the following registry value, and then quit Registry Editor:
