Error message when you run an application on a remote computer that you connect to by using Remote Desktop Web Connection on a Windows Embedded POSReady 2009-based computer

Symptoms

Assume that you use Remote Desktop Web Connection in Internet Explorer to connect to a remote computer from a Windows Embedded POSReady 2009-based computer. In this situation, when you try to run an application (for example, Calculator) on the remote computer, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Your computer can't connect to the remote computer because an error occurred on the remote computer that you want to connect to. Contact your network administrator for assistance.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the update that is described in this article. Then, install the updates that are described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) articles 969084 and 969085.
