Symptoms

When you attempt to download a file from the Internet, you may receive the following error message:

Cause

This behavior can occur if you install the BonziBUDDY program on your computer and enable the download setting in BonziBUDDY so that BonziBUDDY's Download Manager processes all of your Internet downloads. If you do not disable the download setting before you uninstall BonziBUDDY, you receive the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section.

Resolution

To resolve this behavior, rename or delete the Iehelpermiddleman.dll file that is located in the Windows\System folder.
