Symptoms

After you install an additional video camera, you are unable to select it for use in a video conference.

Cause

By default, Exchange 2000 Conferencing Server uses the first camera that you installed on your computer.

Resolution

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

You have to edit the following registry entry to take advantage of the additional camera. To modify the registry follow these steps:
  1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
  2. Browse to the following registry location:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange Video Conferencing
  3. Add the following values to the registry key:
    Value Name: VideoDeviceNumber
    Data Type: REG_DWORD
    Data: 0,1,2
Note: In the Data value, 0 represents the default camera, 1 represents the second video camera, 2 represents the third, and so forth.
