Symptoms

Assume that you try to deploy a client agent by using System Center 2012 Configuration Manager on a computer that is running the French version of Windows 7. In this situation, the client agent is not deployed.

Note This issue does not occur on a computer that is running the English version of Windows 7.

Cause

This issue occurs because of a localization issue in the Basebrd.dll.mui file. When an application such as Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) uses the IDS_WINDOWS_LONG value on a computer that is running the French version of Windows 7, all space characters are encoded incorrectly with a "0xA0" ASCII value. In this situation, System Center 2012 Configuration Manager does not recognize the client computer as a Windows 7 computer, and the client agent is not deployed. However, on a computer that is running the English version of Windows 7, the space characters are encoded correctly with a "0x20" ASCII value.
