Prepare Reports DTS Task Fails When You Perform a Copy/Paste Operation

Symptoms

While the Commerce Server Prepare Reports DTS Task is running, if you use the clipboard to perform any type of copy or paste function, the following error message occurs in the Package Execution Results window:
1 Task(s) failed during execution.
The DTS package has an Error Occurred status, and when you view the Application event log, the following error message from Source CSDataWarehouse occurs:
The following information is part of the event: Can't open Clipboard.

If you perform a paste operation while the DSO call is being executed, the code fails and returns the following error message:
Can't open Clipboard

Cause

The partition analyzer needs to use the clipboard exclusively. This is a designed OLAP functionality. During the Prepare Reports DTS task, OLAP populates all of the cubes in the data warehouse. To do this, OLAP uses the clipboard extensively.

Workaround

Do not perform any type of copy or paste operation during the execution of the Commerce Server Prepare Reports DTS Task.
