FIX: SYSGEN_MINGDI and SYSGEN_MINGWES variables are included in the run-time image when you build a run-time image for an operating system design for which the SYSGEN_WCELDCMD variable is set to 1

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based operating system design for a device that has no display screen.
  • You type the following command in the command prompt build window:
    Set SYSGEN_WCELDCMD=1
  • You build a run-time image for the operating system design in the command prompt build window.
  • You open the Sysgensettings.out file in the flat release directory.

In this scenario, you notice that SYSGEN_MINGDI=1 and SYSGEN_MINGWES=1 appear in the Sysgensettings.out file. Additionally, the SYSGEN_MINGDI and SYSGEN_MINGWES variables are included in the run-time image.

Cause

This problem occurs because the Windows Embedded Compact 7 build system uses batch (.bat) files to resolve dependencies among various components. When the build system detects that the SYSGEN_WCELDCMD variable is set, a cascade of other components are included. This eventually causes the unnecessary inclusion of the SYSGEN_MINGDI and SYSGEN_MINGWES variables.
