Symptoms

When you deploy customizations by using the Retail POS plug-in installer in Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail 2012, a compilation error occurs.

Cause

This problem occurs because the following files that are required for the CreateDatabase service are missing in the Retail POS plug-in installer:
  • CreateDatabase.csproj
  • Resources.Designer.cs
  • Resources.resx
  • UserUtility.cs

Restart requirement

You must restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service after you apply the hotfix.
