Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a Unified Messaging (UM) server role deployed in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment.
  • A UM-enabled user calls a telephone number to send a voice message to a personal contact by using Outlook Voice Access.
  • The personal contact has more than one email address.
  • The user selects an email address that is not the primary email address of the personal contact, and then sends the voice message.
In this scenario, the voice message is not sent to the selected email address. Instead, the voice message is sent to the primary email address of the personal contact.

Cause

This issue occurs because the recipient list of the email message that contains the voice message is not updated with the selected email address. Instead, the recipient list is populated by the default email address that is the primary email address of the personal contact.
