A dropdown list on a web page may not resize correctly when zooming in or out in Internet Explorer 8

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You are using Windows Internet Explorer 8 to view a web page. The web page contains a dropdown list control. When you zoom in or zoom out in the Internet Explorer window, the dropdown list control does not resize correctly.

Cause

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the products listed in the "Applies To" section of this article.

Workaround

To workaround this behavior, click the Refresh button in Internet Explorer to correct the display size of the dropdown list control.

More Information

This problem does not occur when using Windows Internet Explorer 9 or later.
