Symptoms

Your Management Reporter 2012 report may return no data after you upgrade from Dynamics AX 2009 to Dynamics AX 2012. You may also see "+" symbols in your row definitions under the Link to Financial Dimension column.

Cause

Management Reporter uses the dimension name to identify the segments used in your report definitions. These dimension names are pulled in from Dynamics AX 2012 differently than from Dynamics AX 2009. If the dimension name in the report does not match the name in Dynamics AX, the report will not generate correctly.

Example:

In Dynamics AX 2009, the main account dimension is typically "Account", however in Dynamics AX 2012 the main account segment is typically "MainAccount".

Another change is that the spaces in the dimension name are removed.

Example:

In Dynamics AX 2009, if your dimension name was "Cost Center," this would come over into Management Reporter 2012 for Dynamics AX 2012 as "CostCenter."
