FIX: A custom .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 application that uses Windows Forms may not print or may not apply defined printer settings in Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 64-bit Edition or Itanium Edition, Windows Vista, or Windows Server 2008

Consider the following scenario:

• You apply security update 2656370 to a computer that is running one of the following operating systems:
  • Windows XP Service Pack 3�
  • Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 64-bit Edition�
  • Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2 Itanium Edition�
  • Windows Vista Service Pack 2�
  • Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2
• You run a custom Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 application that uses Windows Forms.

In this scenario, you may experience the following issues:

• The custom application may not print when the application uses a custom print controller. This problem may manifest itself as a failure to print without error messages even when the page is not printed.
• Printer settings that are defined in the custom application may not be applied. (Such settings include page size, layout, paper tray, and so on.) Instead, the default printer settings may be applied.
