FIX: "C7NR" SKU components are reported as "C7G" or "C7P" by the Run-Time License Assessment Tool for a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based image

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based operating system (OS) design that includes only the "C7NR" stock-keeping unit (SKU) components.
  • You include any of the following five catalog items in the OS design and then build the run-time image:
    • SYSGEN_LOCALAUDIO
    • SYSGEN_IE7_MLANG
    • SYSGEN_IE7_URLMON
    • SYSGEN_IE7_WININET
    • SYSGEN_MSXML_MIMEVIEWER
  • You run the Run-Time License Assessment Tool on the run-time image.

In this scenario, the Run-Time License Assessment Tool reports the run-time image as the "C7G" SKU or as the "C7P" SK, instead of as the "C7NR" SKU.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, apply this update. This update changes the CeBase.PbcXml file to include the five catalog items as approved content for the "C7NR" SKU. Additionally, the last three SYSGEN catalog items in the following list are moved from the "C7G" SKU and the "C7P" SKU to the "C7NR" SKU because the SYSGEN_LOCALAUDIO catalog item has a dependency on those catalog items:
  • SYSGEN_LOCALAUDIO
  • SYSGEN_IE7_MLANG
  • SYSGEN_IE7_URLMON
  • SYSGEN_IE7_WININET
  • SYSGEN_MSXML_MIMEVIEWER
  • SYSGEN_DSHOW_WMT
  • SYSGEN_DSHOW_WMT_ASXV1
  • SYSGEN_DSHOW_WMT_ASXV3

Software update information

A supported software update is now available from Microsoft as Windows Embedded Compact 7 Monthly Update June 2012. In the "File information" section, the package file name contains the processor type.
