FIX: "Invalid attempt to read when no data is present." error message when you try to see transaction set details of a message instance in a remote group in BizTalk Server 2010 Administration console

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have two Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 groups in a network environment. One group is named Group A, and the other group named Group B.
  • You use the BizTalk Server Administration console on a computer that is in Group A to connect to Group B.
  • You try to see transaction set details of a message instance in the hub page of Group B.

    Note To do this, select EDI Interchange and Correlated ACK Status under EDI Status Reports, select a row, and then right-click Transaction Set Details. On the opened tab, select a row, and then right-click View Transaction Set Content.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
Invalid attempt to read when no data is present. (System.Data).

Note The expected behavior is that the Message Details dialog box appears.

Resolution

Cumulative update information

The fix that resolves this issue is included in cumulative update package 5 for BizTalk Server 2010.
