Technology improvements and resolved issues in Visual Studio 2012 Release Candidate
This update resolves the following issues.
Issue 1
When you use Visual Studio 2012 Release Candidate, the
ImplicitHoverAction action is recorded unexpectedly for Windows 8 Release Preview.
Issue 2
The completion list is not displayed in a workflow application in Visual Studio 2012 Release Candidate. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
An exception has been encountered. This may be caused by an extension.
Note If you close the error message window, and then you try again to type inside an expression field in the Workflow designer, the completion list again does not display. However, you do not receive another error message.
Issue 3
When you try to generate dependency graphs for a Windows Store app that is built by using C++ in Visual Studio 2012 Release Candidate, Visual Studio 2012 Release Candidate crashes.
Issue 4
When you try to rename a file to the name of a deleted file, you receive an error message, and Project System becomes unstable.
Issue 5
When you work on a Team Foundation Server-bound project, the Team Foundation Server dialog box is constantly displayed and you cannot dismiss it.
Issue 6
After you upgrade the operating system from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Release Preview, XAML Designer in Microsoft Expression Blend crashes.
Improvement 1
This update addresses incompatibility issues that are caused by installing later versions of the C++ Runtime on a machine with Visual Studio 2012 Release Candidate. The update ensures that the Visual Studio executable file loads the compatible C++ Runtime DLLs in the app-local directory instead of loading the incompatible C++ Runtime DLLs that are installed by other applications in the system-wide directories.
Additional changes
This test update to Visual Studio contains minor setup changes and localization changes to improve the ability of Visual Studio to provide future cumulative updates.
