  • You deploy Unified Messaging in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment that also has Exchange Server 2007 deployed.
  • You configure SSL offloading for Outlook Anywhere.
  • A user tries to play a voice mail in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 by clicking the Play on Phone button.
In this scenario, the voice mail cannot be played. Additionally, the user receives the following error message:

Cause

This issue occurs because Outlook 2007 uses a legacy virtual directory to handle requests such as "Play on Phone" and "Change greeting or PIN". These requests are sent as HTTP requests when SSL offloading is configured. However, no entry in the Web.config folder is bound to the web service for HTTP requests.
