"0x0000007E" or "0X00000050" Stop error when you run the Common Scenario Stress with IO test in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

Symptoms

Assume that you run the Common Scenario Stress with IO test that is included in Windows Logo Kit (WLK) on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. However, you receive a Stop error that resembles one of the following:
Stop 0x0000007E (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
Notes
  • This Stop error describes a SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED issue.
  • The parameters in this error message depend vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.
  • Not all "0x0000007E" Stop errors are caused by this issue.
Stop 0X00000050 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
Notes
  • This Stop error describes a PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA issue.
  • The parameters in this error message depend vary, depending on the configuration of the computer. 
  • Not all "0X00000050" Stop errors are caused by this issue.

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
