The system generates incorrect exchange rate for the journal when you transfer an Expense journal to a general ledger journal in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1

Symptoms

Assume that you create an Expanse journal by using foreign currency in the Enterprise Portal (EP) website in Enterprise Portal (EP) in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1). When you transfer the Expense journal to a general ledger (G/L) journal, the system populates an incorrect value in the Secondary exchange rate field on the General tab of the transferred G/L journal. Additionally, the system populates incorrect values in the Cross rate field and in the Calculation method field on the General tab of the transferred G/L journal.

Cause

This problem occurs because the system uses a foreign currency code in the Enterprise Portal (EP) that is equal to the company currency code. Therefore, the system will always generate the exchange rate as 100 unexpectedly.

Validation of the application hotfix installation

To validate the installation of the application hotfix, open the SysHotfixManifest class in the Application Object Tree (AOT). Then, verify that there is a method whose name includes the Knowledge Base (KB) article number of the installed hotfix. Additionally, you can cross-check the affected objects by comparing the KBXXXXXX.txt file against the objects in the AOT. By doing this, you can make sure that the objects are changed correctly in the SYP layer or in the GLP layer.
