Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1 (SP1):
  • You apply hotfix 2613385, 2600983 and 2464788.
  • You try to submit a purchase requisition two times.
  • You receive an error message that prevents you from submitting the purchase requisition for the second time.
In this scenario, the system generates duplicate work flow instances for the purchase requisition in the Workflow history dialog box unexpectedly.

Cause

This problem occurs because the system calls the activateFromWorkflowTemplate method to create a workflow instance before the system calls the canSubmit method that validates the submission of purchase requisition.

You must restart the Application Object Server (AOS) service after you apply this hotfix.

Validation of the application hotfix installation

To validate the installation of the application hotfix, open the SysHotfixManifest class in the Application Object Tree (AOT). Then, verify that there is a method whose name includes the Knowledge Base (KB) article number of the installed hotfix. Additionally, you can cross-check the affected objects by comparing the KBXXXXXX.txt file against the objects in the AOT. By doing this, you can make sure that the objects are changed correctly in the SYP layer or in the GLP layer.
