To disable real-time file system protection in System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac, follow these steps:

Note We recommend that you immediately enable real-time file system protection after you complete any maintenance, installation, or troubleshooting tasks.
  1. Open System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac. To do this, click the System Center Endpoint Protection for Mac icon in the menu bar, and then click Open System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection.
  2. Click Activate advanced mode.
  3. Click Setup, click Antivirus and antispyware, and then click Disable.
  4. In the pop-up window, click Disable when you are prompted.

    Note The System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac icon in the menu bar turns red when real-time protection is disabled.
How to enable real-time file system protection

To enable real-time protection in System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac, follow these steps:
  1. Open System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac. To do this, click the System Center Endpoint Protection for Mac icon in the menu bar, and then click Open System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection.
  2. Click Activate advanced mode.
  3. If it is necessary, click Setup, and then click Antivirus and antispyware.
  4. Click Enable.
