Cumulative update package 4 for BizTalk Server 2006 R2 Service Pack 1

This cumulative update for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) contains hotfixes for the Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2 issues that were fixed after the release of BizTalk Server 2006 R2 SP1.

We recommend that you test hotfixes before you deploy them in a production environment. Because the builds are cumulative, each new fix release contains all the hotfixes and all the security fixes that were included in the previous BizTalk Server 2006 R2 fix release. We recommend that you consider applying the most recent fix release that contains this hotfix.

A supported cumulative update package is now available from Microsoft. However, the cumulative update package is intended to correct only the problems that are described in this article. Apply the cumulative update package only to systems that are experiencing these specific problems. This cumulative update package may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by any of these problems, we recommend that you wait for the next BizTalk Server 2006 R2 service pack. The next service pack will contain the hotfixes that are in this cumulative update package.

Prerequisites

You must have BizTalk Server 2006 R2 (SP1) installed to apply this update. To obtain BizTalk Server 2006 R2 SP1, visit the following Microsoft Download Center Web site: Additionally, the following components have some corresponding hotfixes in this update. To apply the corresponding hotfixes, the component must be installed.

• Microsoft BizTalk Adapters for Enterprise Applications (also known as BizTalk LOB Adapters)
• Microsoft BizTalk Accelerator for HL7 2.0
• Microsoft BizTalk FileAct and InterAct Adapters for SWIFT 2.3 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Important The cumulative update package is a unified package that contains x86 and x64 files. To install the update correctly, run the Setup.exe file.

Note An improved hotfix installer is used in the cumulative update package. When you install the cumulative update package, a list of the installed features that are updated is displayed, and the number of fixes for each feature is displayed.

Restart requirement

You may have to restart the computer after you apply this cumulative update.
