To install System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac, follow these steps:

Note Running two antivirus programs on the same computer can cause performance problems and system instability. Uninstall any antivirus software that is currently installed on your computer before you install System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac.
  1. Insert the System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac installation disk into your DVD drive.
  2. In the Finder, double-click System Center 2012 Endpoint Protection for Mac.
  3. Double-click Install, and then click Continue.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen until you reach the Installation Mode page.

    Note If you want to save the information on the Introduction, Read Me, or License pages, click Print or Save on that page.
  5. On the Installation Mode page, select the installation mode that you want, and then click Continue.

    Note We recommend that you select Typical. The preconfigured settings of the Typical installation mode provide the best combination of protection and performance.
  6. On the Special Applications page, click to select one of the following, and then click Continue:
    • Enable detection of potentially unwanted applications
    • Disable detection of potentially unwanted applications

    Note We recommend that you select Enable detection of potentially unwanted applications.
  7. Click Install.
  8. If prompted, type your administrator password, and then click Install Software.
  9. After the installation is complete, click Close or Restart.
