Consider the following scenario:
Note Typically, this issue occurs when the following factors are true:
- You install a Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2) site server on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2.
- You create four branch distribution points and four standard distribution points on the site server.
- The branch distribution points have names that sort before the standard distribution points.
- You set the Maximum Threads Per Package setting to 6 in the Configuration Manager Console.
- You create a package that has the source file, and you deploy the package to all the distribution points.
Note Typically, this issue occurs when the following factors are true:
- The number of branch distribution points in a site is larger than the number of standard distribution points in that same site.
- The Maximum Threads Per Package setting is set to a lower number than the total number of distribution points on the site.
- The branch distribution points have names that sort before the standard distribution points.
