FIX: Test Manager crashes when you run a manual test case that has some diagnostic data adapters selected in Visual Studio 2010

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You create a manual test case in Microsoft Test Manager on a computer that has Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 installed. Some of the following diagnostic data adapters are selected in the Data and Diagnostics section of the test case:
    • Action
    • Event Log
    • Intellitrace
    • System Information
    • Test Impact
  • You run the manual test case.
In this scenario, Test Manager may crash.

Note The issue occurs more frequently in Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) applications.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, it is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article.
