Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You deploy three server pools (server pool A, server pool B, and server pool C) in a Microsoft Lync Server 2010 environment.
  • You assign a user (user A) to server pool A.
  • You assign a user (user B) to server pool B. User B is the delegate of user A.
  • You move user A from server pool A to server pool C.
  • User B tries to perform an operation on behalf of user A.
In this scenario, the operation is not successful.

For example, user B receives the following error message when user B tries to schedule a Lync 2010 online meeting on behalf of user A:
You do not have permissions to schedule online meetings on behalf of the owner of this account. Please contact the owner of the account to get delegate permissions in Lync.

Cause

This issue occurs because the self SUBSCRIBE request that user B sends is not successful after you move user A to a different server pool. Therefore, the Lync 2010 client that user B is using encounters an incorrect 403 Forbidden error and user B receives an error message.

Note After the update is installed, the user must sign out and then sign in to Lync 2010.
