More Information

The DHCP Server service provides DHCP server management APIs, and these are used to manage the DHCP server. DHCPGetClientInfoV6() is a DHCP server management API that is related to DHCPv6. This API lets the caller receive client\lease information for a specific IP address. This is a publicly documented API, and this API has been supported since DHCPv6 support was introduced for Windows Server 2008. When you call this API on Windows Server 2008 R2, the operation works correctly. However, when you call this API on Windows Server 2008, the DHCP Server service crashes. This issue occurs even if the DHCP server is not configured for IPv6/DHCPv6.
