FIX: A system crash may occur when you start a Windows Embedded Compact 7-based multi-core processor device that includes TCP/IP components

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a Windows Embedded Compact 7 image for a multi-core processor device.
  • The image includes TCP/IP components.
  • You start the device.

In this scenario, you may experience a system crash.

Note If you check the stack trace, you find that the crash occurs in the TCP/IP start code.

Cause

This problem occurs because a race condition occurs in which the TCP/IP start code tries to access an object that is not initialized. This causes an access violation to occur.
