FP2000: Unexpected Dial-Up Connection Attempt When You Open Web on Local Computer

Symptoms

When you attempt to open a Microsoft FrontPage 2000 web on your local computer, you may be prompted for a dial-up connection and you may receive the following error message
There is no server on Port 80 at http://ISP
where ISP is the name of your Internet service provider (ISP).

Cause

This behavior can occur if you are using Domain Name System (DNS) with your TCP/IP connection.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

NOTE: Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
1.Double-click My Computer on the Microsoft Windows desktop.
2.Double-click Dial-Up Networking.
3.Right-click the connection that you want.
4.Click the Server Types tab.
5.Click TCP/IP Settings.
6.Disable DNS by clicking Server assigned name server addresses, and then click OK.
