FP2000: Error Message When You Post Information to a Database

Symptoms

In Microsoft FrontPage 2000, when you attempt to enter information into a database, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Cannot update the database.
Error Description: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Cannot update.
Database or object is read-only.
Error Number: -2147467259
Error Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers

Cause

This behavior can occur if the Uniform Resource Locator (URL) to the database is incorrect.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
1.Start FrontPage 2000.
2.Open the web that you want.
3.On the Tools menu, click Web Settings.
4.Click the Database tab.
5.Select the database that you want.
6.Click Modify.
7.Select the Type of connection, and then click Browse.
8.Enter the correct URL, and then click OK three times.
