Symptoms

In Microsoft FrontPage 2000, when you attempt to publish a disk-based web to a remote Microsoft Personal Web Server, you may receive the following error message:
You do not have 32-bit TCP/IP networking installed.
Additionally, you may be unable to start the Personal Web Server.

Cause

This behavior can occur if Zone Alarm by Zone Systems is installed and running as your firewall.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, disable Zone Alarm.

Doing so allows Personal Web Server to start, and you are now able to publish to Personal Web Server from FrontPage 2000.

NOTE: You may leave Zone Alarm running as your firewall if you configure Zone Alarm to recognize FrontPage as an Internet server.
