XL2000: Format Painter Causes Excel to Stop Responding If Date Watch Add-in Is Enabled

When you double-click the Format Painter button, Excel stops responding, and you may receive either of the following error messages: -or- After Excel stops responding, you must end the Excel task in the Microsoft Windows Task Manager.

If you received the "Out of Stack Space" error message, Excel then prompts you to save changes in unsaved workbooks.

If you received the two other error messages, any unsaved changes to the workbooks are lost.

This problem occurs if you double-click the Format Painter button while the Date Watch add-in is enabled.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 Service Pack 2.
