This article describes an update to remove unnecessary policy checking code for the SetThreadPriority function and for the CeSetThreadPriority function in Windows Embedded Compact 7.

More Information

In earlier versions of Windows Embedded, you could set the priority of a thread to certain values in another thread by using the SetThreadPriority function and the CeSetThreadPriority function. However, in Windows Embedded Compact 7, you may be unable to do this until you install this update. In Windows Embedded Compact 7, there is incorrect policy checking that limits setting the priority on other threads.

After you apply this update, policy checking is removed, and the behavior is the same as in earlier versions.
