FIX: WorkingDirectory appSetting element in the QTAgentService.exe.Config file does not work when you run a load test in Visual Studio 2010 SP1

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
  • You configure the WorkingDirectory appSetting element for the QTAgentService.exe.Config file to point to a working folder. For example, you run the following code to configure the WorkingDirectory appSetting element in the QTAgentService.exe.Config file:
    <add key="WorkingDirectory" value="C:\NewTestFolder" />
  • You run a load test to save the test data.
In this scenario, the test data is not saved to the configured working folder. When this issue occurs, the test data is saved in the default temporary folder, in a location that resembles the following:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\machinename\QTAgent

You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this hotfix if affected files are not being used.
