Total cost of an inventory ID is updated incorrectly after the Update Standard Cost from Pending (10.530.00) process is run in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Inventory in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 Service Pack 3 (SP3):
  • You previously applied the correction for issue 23431 as described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 2567315.  For more information about issue 23431, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:  
    2567315 Last Cost incorrectly updated for an inventory ID on the Inventory Sites (10.255.00) screen after the Update Standard Costs from Pending (10.530.00) process is run in Microsoft Dynamics SL
  • You run the Update Standard Cost from Pending (10.530.00) process to update your standard cost inventory IDs.
  • You review the value in the Total Cost box in the Inventory Status Inquiry (10.220.00) screen for one or more of the items that were updated in the Update Standard Cost from Pending (10.530.00) screen.
In this scenario, the value in the Total Cost box is not what you expect. You expect the total cost to be updated to a value that equals the total quantity multiplied by the standard cost of the inventory ID.
