Negative value in the Use From Stock Qty box on the Component Entry (11.011.00) screen in Microsoft Dynamics SL

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Bill of Material in Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 Service Pack 3 (SP3):
  • You create a bill of material that contains a second-level subassembly on the Bill of Material Maintenance (11.250.00) screen.
  • You create a production entry document for the bill of material on the Production Entry (11.010.00) screen.
  • You click the Components button to open the Production Entry BOM Structure (11.010.01) screen, and then you click the Component Entry button to open the Component Entry (11.011.00) screen.
  • You review the values in the Use From Stock Qty box.
When you do this, you notice that one or more of the values in the Use From Stock Qty box are negative. You expect all the values in the Use From Stock Qty box to be positive in this scenario.
