Summary

The article describes an update that is now available for Microsoft Web Farm Framework (WFF) 2.1 for Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 and IIS 7.5 that resolves the following two issues. The updated version of WFF is named Microsoft Web Farm Framework (WFF) 2.2.

Issue 1

Consider the following scenario:
  • You create a server farm on a server that has WFF 2.1 installed and set the server as the primary server.
  • You provision the server farm.
  • You deploy some Microsoft ASP.NET Model-View-Controller (MVC) 3 applications in the server farm.
  • You try to add another server as a secondary server to the server farm.

In this scenario, WFF 2.1 repeatedly installs ASP.NET MVC 3 Tools Update on the secondary server. 

Issue 2

You try to install a PowerShell MSU from the Microsoft Web Platform Installer on a computer that has WFF 2.1 installed. In this situation, the IIS World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC) repeatedly restarts.
