EUDC fonts are not printed correctly in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install a printer on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows 7.
  • You print an XPS document that has multiple pages.
Or, you use the Remote Desktop Easy Print feature to print a text file that has multiple pages.
  • Both the XPS document and the text file contain some end-user-defined character (EUDC) fonts.
In this scenario, the EUDC fonts are not printed correctly. For example, some of them are either missing or replaced by the first EUDC font.

Notes
  • This issue does not occur if the text file contains only EUDC fonts.
  • To use the Remote Desktop Easy Print feature, enable the Use Remote Desktop Easy Print printer driver first Group Policy.

Cause

The issue occurs because the Xpsgdiconverter.dll module does not convert EUDC fonts correctly.
