Code changes
Note Always test code fixes in a controlled environment before you apply the fixes to your production computers. To resolve this problem, change the code in the SMTP Mail codeunit (400). After you apply the changes, email messages will be created and sent from the client instead of the server. Therefore, the email messages will preserve the identity of the executing user.
To do this, follow these steps:
- Deploy and register the Microsoft.Navision.Mail.dll assembly in the client. To do this, run the following command:
regasm /tlb:Microsoft.Navision.Mail.tlb /codebase Microsoft.Navision.Mail.dll
- Change the code in the SMTP Mail codeunit (400) as follows:
Existing code...
PROCEDURE CreateMessage@.....
BEGIN
IF Recipients <> '' THEN
CheckValidEmailAddresses(Recipients);
CheckValidEmailAddresses(SenderAddress);
SMTPMailSetup.GET;
SMTPMailSetup.TESTFIELD("SMTP Server");
IF ISCLEAR(Mail) THEN
CREATE(Mail);
Mail.FromName := SenderName;
...
Replacement code...
PROCEDURE CreateMessage@.....
BEGIN
IF Recipients <> '' THEN
CheckValidEmailAddresses(Recipients);
CheckValidEmailAddresses(SenderAddress);
SMTPMailSetup.GET;
SMTPMailSetup.TESTFIELD("SMTP Server");
IF ISCLEAR(Mail) THEN
CREATE(Mail,TRUE,TRUE);
Mail.FromName := SenderName;
...
