Exchange 2010 Hub Transport Server Not Present

Symptoms

In a Microsoft Exchange 2010 Server environment, mail is not transferred from mailbox to mailbox, even if the mailboxes are on the same server.

Cause

The Mailbox Server role is installed in an Active Directory site that has no Hub Transport�Server role installed.

Resolution

Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 uses Active Directory site topology to determine how messages are transported in the organization.
To address this issue, install the�Hub TransportServer role in each�Active Directory site that has a Mailbox Server�role installed.
