Double-byte characters are changed incorrectly in any screen in Microsoft Dynamics SL

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Dynamics SL 2011:
  • You change the Region and Language setting and your keyboard settings on your workstation to a language that uses double-byte characters. For example, you change to Chinese (Simplified, PRC).
  • You enter a double-byte character in a text box in any Microsoft Dynamics SL screen.
  • You click Save, and you close the screen.
  • You reopen the screen, and you review the data that you entered.
In this scenario, you notice that the double-byte character that you entered was changed to something other than what you entered. You expect that the double-byte character that you entered remains unchanged.
