Symptoms

When you run the Microsoft Forecaster Database Creation Wizard after you apply Service Pack 5, the following error may occur:

"Microsoft Forecaster Database Wizard has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost."

Cause

The SQL 2008 SQL Management Objects have not been installed.

Resolution

Install the SQL following SQL 2008 SQL Management Objects in the following order.

· Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client

· Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types

· Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Management Objects

More Information

The SQL 2005 SQL Management Objects were required in versions of Forecaster 7.0 earlier than Service Pack 5. This applies regardless of the version of SQL that hosts the Microsoft Forecaster database. You can have both the SQL 2005 and SQL 2008 SQL Management Objects installed at the same time.
